| Background |
| Although it
is not known specifically how or even where this breed originated, there is evidence of its existence in ancient China.
There are two distinct varieties of this unusual dog: one is hairless except for silky tufts of hair on its head, feet,
and tail, and called, quite simply, the Hairless; whereas the other variety, the Powderpuff, has a coat of long,
straight, silky hair. Amazingly, both varieties of this breed occur within the same litter. These gentle, high-spirited
dogs crave constant companionship from their owners and are friendly towards strangers if socialized at an early age.
Special attention must be paid to the Hairless' skincare routine, including regular application of moisturizer and
sunblock and frequent baths to combat blackheads. |
